WORK THE POLLS ON ELECTION DAY!
Thank you for your interest in the election process! The Dorchester County Board of Elections and Registration is always looking for new Poll Managers to staff precincts throughout Dorchester County.
Poll Managers have a unique opportunity to serve the community, meet their neighbors, and become involved in the democratic process. They are also compensated $125 for each election they work, and $50 for any Run-off Election.
Election Day duties include: processing of voters, ballot distribution, operation of the voting machines, compliance with election law, and general assistance to voters.
In order to apply, YOU MUST:
- Be a registered voter in Dorchester County, or an adjoining county (Charleston, Berkeley, Orangeburg or Colleton County)
- Be willing and able to attend a Poll Manager Training Session (2-3 hours) before EACH election.
- Be prepared to work the ENTIRE Election Day, from 6:15AM until approximately 7:30PM.
- Be non-partisan and neutral when working an election.
