Special Election for Senate 41

STATE SENATE DISTRICT 41 STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA – COUNTY OF DORCHESTER Notice is hereby given that the Board of Elections and Voter Registration of Dorchester County will hold a Special Primary on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 to fill (1) one State Senate Seat in District 41: Term of Office to expire on December 31, 2016. The last day that persons may register to be eligible to vote in this election is August 18, 2012. If submitting a registration by mail application or fax, it must be post marked no later than August 18, 2012. The polls will open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the polling places fixed by law in this county. Registered voters who cannot vote in person may be eligible to vote by absentee ballot. Absentee ballots may be obtained from the Board of Elections and Voter Registration of Dorchester County. You may call 832-0132 or send an email to vote@dorchestercounty.net to inquire about the availability of absentee ballots. At 9:00 a.m., on Election Day, the Board of Elections and Voter Registration of Dorchester County will begin the examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes. This process will take place at the Kenneth Waggonner Building, 201 Johnston Street, St. George, SC. On Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., the Dorchester County Board of Canvassers will hold a hearing at the Kenneth Waggonner Building, 201 Johnston Street, St. George, SC, to determine the validity of all ballots challenged in this election, and certify election results.
